Handwara, Feb 7: Scores of residents from Ashpora on Sunday protested over non-availibility of public transport on local routes including Ashpora-Kralgund road in Handwara area.
Reports reaching GNS said that the agitated locals blocked the road at Qaziabad area and raised slogans against authorities concerned for playing down the issue.
Alleging ARTO Kupwara of ‘not taking concrete steps vis-à-vis allocation of sumo stand’ to Ashpora, the protestors further said that despite time to time appraisals the authority concerned is yet to come clear about this long pending issue of the people.
“We are suffering a lot of hardships and appeal ARTO Kupwara to redress this issue on urgent basis as to mitigate the sufferings of people”, they said.
