Anantnag, Feb 22: Two days after taking the first dose of Covishield, a doctor died of cardiac arrest in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that 54 year old Dr Ashiq Hussain Bhat, a resident of Bhagwan Pora Lal Bazar area of Srinagar city suffered cardiac arrest at his clinic in Anantnag district.
He was shifted to hospital, however, doctors declared him brought dead.
Pertinently, the deceased doctor had taken Covid-19 shot vide batch number 4120Z012 called ‘Covishield’ on February 19 (Saturday).
Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Samir Mattu told KNT that there is no connection between the death of the medico and Covishield.
Chief Medical Officer, Anantnag, Dr Mukhtiyar Ahmed also ruled out any connection between the two. “Dr Ashiq Hussain died of massive attack and doctors at Anantnag Hospital confirmed it,” he said.
