Srinagar, Feb 6: Scores of gardeners Saturday staged a protest against Jammu Kashmir Bank, alleging that instead of regularizing their services, the Bank is asking them to join some other agencies.
The gardeners assembled here in Press Enclave Srinagar. They were carrying placards and a banner. They raised slogans against Jammu and Kashmir Bank.
The protesting gardeners told News Agency Kashmir News Trust that they maintain JK Bank sponsored gardens like Iqbal Park, Badamwari while some of them also work at Central Office JK Bank.
“The regularization orders were supposed to be issued by the Bank in March 2019, but instead of issuing orders, the Bank demanded documents from us. We submitted the same and later on we are informed that orders can’t be issued in wake of Vigilance raid,” they said and accused the Bank of resorting to dilly dally tatics.
The protesting gardeners said that they have been working with the Bank from past two decades and now instead of regularizing them, the Bank wants to show them door.
“We are being deprived of our salaries as well. We haven’t received a penny from past 4 months,” the protesters told KNT.
