Lucknow, Apr 25: Uttar Pradesh on Sunday registered 35,614 new cases of novel coronavirus, a slight less than yesterday’s 38,000 cases.
However, during the last 24 hours 25,633 people were released from hospital and home isolation after treatment.
So far, more than 7.77 lakh people in the state have been free from Covid infection. This pleasant situation is the result of effectively implementing the formula of ‘Dawaai Bhi-Kadai Bhi’, claimed Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath during his regular Team 11 meeting on Covid here on Sunday.
CM said that UP is the first state to take the decision of free immunization for citizens above 18 years of age. ” All the necessary preparations should be completed in time, in accordance with the guidelines of the Government of India, regarding this massive vaccination campaign starting from May 1,” he instructed the officials .
The order of 50-50 lakh doses has been sent to both the indigenous vaccine manufacturing companies. In addition, the vaccine dose will be made available by the Government of India. A comprehensive action plan should be prepared in this regard. In every case, ensure that the vaccine is not wasted, he said.
Yogi Adityanath said well-equipped Covid Hospital being set up in Lucknow and Varanasi in collaboration with DRDO and it will become operational very soon. The Health Department should provide all necessary resources to the DRDO by establishing contact with the concerned officials. The medical resources of the state will be strengthened by the operation of these hospitals, he said.
The CM warned that bo private or government hospital can refuse treatment of any Covid patient. As per the rules, the government will bear the cost of their treatment, but the patient should be provided medical facilities immediately. Proper treatment should be provided to those who came positive in antigen test.
He said in collaboration with IIT Kanpur, IIM Lucknow and IIT BHU, oxygen audit should be conducted.
Similarly, support should be taken for oxygen audit by establishing contact with AKTU in Lucknow, MMMUT in Gorakhpur, HBTU in Kanpur and MNIT in Prayagraj. These institutions should be allotted separate districts adjacent to them and audited. The system of live tracking of oxygen demand-supply-distribution has come into force. It should be made effective.
It is the result of efforts made on a war footing, UP is not in a state of turmoil like other states over oxygen shortage he said while added Oxygen supply is normal.
“Government of India has increased the allocation of the state. It should be supplied in the state as soon as possible. There has been huge benefit from innovative cooperation like Oxygen Express. Oxygen were also airlifted. There is no lack of oxygen in any Covid Hospital, private or government.
However the CM said the number of oxygen tankers needs to be increased. Transport department should take necessary action in this regard. Apart from this, cooperation should also be obtained from the Government of India for the supply of tankers.
He also stressed the need for setting up oxygen plants in all hospitals of the state with more than 100 beds capacity. This is a task of top priority of governance.
