‘Govt closes OPD in GMC Jammu’
Srinagar, May 1: Doctors in South Kashmir’s Shopian hospital have stopped examining patients at OPD saying visiting patients may contract this lethal virus in the hospital.
Hospital sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that In District Hospital Shopian doctors have stopped to check OPD patients, with the apprehensions of transmission of Corona Virus and threat to the lives of patients directly and their families indirectly.
Sources added that In the said Hospital services for all OPD/ IPD/ Covid-19 patients is operational so for but doctors are demanding to District Administration that either OPD patients should be restricted from visiting the Hospital and treated at some other designated place or Covid-19 patients should be treated at some other designated separate place so that they can take preventive measures and accordingly treat them.
Meanwhile, Directorate of Information and Public Relations in a tweet informed that due to surge in Covid 19 pandemic and increase in patient load, routine OPD in GMC/Associated Hospitals in Jammu shall remain suspended from 3 May till further order.
