Sources told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the group, which includes former Finance and External Affairs minister, Yashwant Sinha, Air Vice Marshall (Retd) Kapil Kak and Sushobha Barve (Executive Secretary of Centre for Dialogue and Reconciliation), will visit Srinagar tomorrow for two days.
Sources said that the group will meet different political parties and senior leaders including National Conferences president Farooq Abdullah, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, CPI-(M) leader MY Tarigami and other senior leaders and party heads.
They said that the group, which has been working on Track-II diplomacy will visit the Summer capital of J&K to make smooth way for Track-II diplomacy.
The group had also visited different parts of Jammu and Kashmir after the centre government’s abrogated article 370 and 35-A and also stripped Jammu and Kashmir off its special status.
Notably, the group had also released a report after meeting several leaders last year, who were detained post abrogation of article 370 and 35-A and its has been against the centre’s move on August 05, 2019.
As per sources, the group is likely to meet several cross sections of the society during its two-day stay in Srinagar.
Pertinently, the CCG’s visit to Srinagar holds significance as the development came days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an all-party meeting leaders of different political parties of Jammu and Kashmir on June 24 in New Delhi.
