Ganderbal, Sep 30: Drivers Thursday accused Municipal Council Ganderbal of loot. They said drivers are being forced to Rs 100 as entry fee at toll post set up by the Council.
A group of drivers told news agency Kashmir News Trust that last year only Rs 50 were collected by the Municipal Council as entry fee but this year without issuing any notification Rs 100 being demanded.
“Drivers operating Sumos and tourist vehicles are feeling burden. In these trying circumstances, it is very difficult for a driver to pay Rs 100 as entry fee. It should be reduced to half,” they said.
Executive Officer (EO) Municipal Council Ganderbal didn’t pick up the phone while Chairman MC Ganderbal Lone Altaf Ganderbali said a notification in this regard has already been issued and drivers have to pay Rs 100 at the toll post.
